Welcome to session 17 of the Craft Beer Showdown Podcast. You might notice that we skipped session 16, but fear not, this was no drunken mistake. Session 16 has Randy Mosher featured and is still being worked on. Until it’s up and ready for consumption, I have another great Podcast for you.
The band Reel Big Fish was, and still is, one of my favorite bands. Their fun, upbeat sound exemplifies what 3rd wave ska is all about. A big part of that sound is their horn section, and a major part of that would be the one and only Dan Regan. Until recently, Dan was one of the last remaining original members of the band along with frontman Aaron Barret.
Dan quit the band in his 19th year in Reel Big Fish to spend some quality time with his 5 year old and 5 month old children as well as his wife. Quitting the band has also given Dan the time he needs to move forward with the brewery he is helping to start named Liberation Brewing Company. Dan is a long-time home brewer and worldwide craft beer fan, so it’s no surprise that he’s stepping into the world of professional brewing.
Check out session 17 to hear all about Dan’s start in Reel Big Fish, his first home brewing experience, and what we can expect from Liberation Brewing Company. Dan’s an awesome guy, and it was my honor to talk to him, so I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it.
